1) Is your TCP number up to date? What is you TCP number?

This question alone will give you a sense if the limo company you are talking to is up to code and safe to rent a limo with. A TCP number is a TCP stands for  "Transportation Charter Party Carrier of Passengers". Its a license number that allows limo companies to operate. To have a tcp number means that california has said this limo company is Legally operating, its limos are safe and insured, its drivers are properlly trained and certified, and that this is a good limo company in the eyes of the state of California.

Some companies are able to offer the lowest prices in the market because they are not insured. Which means they can be the cheapest. However this is very dangerous and if your limo was to get checked while out on a service, you might not have a limo to ride back in!

If it is not up to date, dont rent a limo with that limousine company! Also make sure that the limo you get on the day of your service is the same one you were given over the phone. This is because some companies "sell limo jobs" to each other. So although you booked with a safe limo company, the one that it was "sold" to might not be a valid company.

Limo companies are required by law to file evidence of one or more types of insurance coverage to secure and maintain active operating authority and registration. All limo companies are required to file evidence of liability coverage. Minimum limits vary by type of carrier and other factors but heres a MINIMUM required by law:

• 7 passengers or less - $750,000
• 8 through 15 passengers - $1,500,000
• 16 passengers or more . . . . $5,000,000

If the limo companies answers are less than this. They may not be legal and it wouldnt be a big suprise if they didnt want to show you proof.

3) Can I see the limousine I am booking in person before the day of my service?

This questions insures that the limo is not only the quality you expect but that the tcp numbers match the ones you were given over the phone. Also make sure that the limo you see is the one that arrives on the day of your service. If you limo job is "sold" to another limo company you make no longer be in safe hands!
